Running for Osteosarcoma Research. Cody Martin and Micah Bilton-Smith are running the Arches Mad Moose Ultra 50 Mile Marathon January 25, 2025.
Cody Martin and Micah Bilton-Smith have always been a team. They played football together for years, fought side by side on the field, and shared countless memories. But this time, they’re taking on their toughest challenge yet—a 50-mile Ultra Marathon. They’re not running for medals or accolades; they’re running for their friend, Trey, who inspired them with his courage and determination as he battled osteosarcoma.
“Trey never gave up. Even on the hardest days, he fought with everything he had,” Cody says. “He taught us what real strength looks like—not just physical, but mental and emotional strength. That’s what this run is about. We’re running because Trey never quit, and we won’t either.”
For Cody and Micah, this Ultra Marathon is more than just a race. It’s a tribute to Trey’s legacy and a way to make a difference. Every mile they run, every ounce of pain they endure, is dedicated to raising money for osteosarcoma research—so that future patients will have better treatment options, and no one has to fight this battle alone.
“Trey was a warrior in every sense of the word,” Micah adds. “This race isn’t just for him—it’s for every kid fighting osteosarcoma. We’re doing this so that they can have hope, just like Trey gave us.”
As they lace up their shoes and prepare for the grueling 50-mile journey, Cody and Micah carry Trey’s spirit with them every step. Their friendship, forged on the football field, now takes them on a new path—one of endurance, love, and a mission to save lives.
For Trey. For Hope. For a Cure.
